I provides photographic services specializing in bringing historical document and photographic collections to the public through exhibits, websites, and preservation strategies. I concentrate on northwest history at the present time. Privately, I like to focus on documenting maritime & fisheries industry and invite you to enjoy these on this site. I am available for field work and site work in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Following many years of field project photography, and archival work, I also provide photographic service for small museum exhibits.
Museums hold many stories among their photographic, artifact, and archival collections. Exhibit development can often stretch operational budgets. Refreshing exhibits with a new narrative from the photographic collection can enliven your visitor experience without a complete overhaul of your exhibit space. By photographing artifacts in the collection, your exhibits can be easily enhanced without major fabrication costs.
I specialize in scaled designs with small budgets and volunteer help. This includes project management, and training that extends beyond the project. Working together, we enhance existing exhibits with new fabrication, labels, and lighting. Overall we develop new exhibit schedules that will not overwhelm volunteer staff, and creating displays that engage repeat visitors.
Photographic Preservation
Your organization may have uncatalogued photographic material at risk of exposure to environmental degradation. Photographic services can be tailored to prioritize key holdings.
